Announce was briefed by Dodson & Horrell, horse feed specialists, to raise awareness locally of its sponsorship of para-equestrian athletes. As a result of our support, Dodson & Horrell was featured in key regional print press and on TV.

How did we do it?

Announce came up with a PR strategy which involved collaborating with the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), a UK charity providing therapy, enjoyment and achievement to people with disabilities. 


Announce worked closely with regional branches of the RDA in Northamptonshire, and came up with the idea of holding an open day event for children with disabilities at a local riding centre. 


Announce garnered support from Sir Lee Pearson CBE, 11 times paralympic games gold medallist, and Sophie Wells MBE, gold and silver medallist at Rio 2016 and London 2012, who both appeared at the event and were interviewed by media. 


We disseminated details of the event to schools across Northamptonshire and also liaised with Autism Concern to help spread the word. 



ITV News Anglia picked up the story and announce arranged a visit to a local school prior to the event to interview a pupil who enjoys lessons with her local RDA group. ITV Anglia subsequently attended the open day to film and interview attendees and the para-equestrian athletes resulting in bulletins going out on the evening news programme. 


The event was covered by a range of regional media including Business Times, Northamptonshire Telegraph, Herald & Post and ITV Anglia.
